Journalism in Latin America has representatives with careers worthy of recognition. Legendary figures, thanks to their contributions, interviews, and reviews, help weave the history of society and keep us informed over time. Today, we would like to talk about one of these icons, our dear Enrique Castillo Pesado.
55 years of career as a communicator and journalist, 25,400 interviews and 5,100 radio and television programs have made him the recipient of national and international awards and recognitions, such as the Golden Laurel of Barcelona, which he has received ten times, 10 awards National Awards and Journalism Awards from the Journalists Club, the Order of the Great Reform, the National Legion of Honor, a Gold Master in Senior Management, the Five Diamond Award, for his recognized work in promoting international gastronomy, the Gold Master in Senior Management of Spain by His Majesty King Juan Carlos, a recognition by the University of Salamanca, who recognized him through a tribute for being a character who during his career has always defended Spanish “at all costs”, the Medal of the Catholic Monarchs in the “Foro Europa 2017” for 50 years of journalistic career and for upholding Castilian at all costs and the award “Forjadores de México” by the Fundación Cultural Forjadores de México A.C.
Also in 2017, he received in Madrid the International Prize “Fundación Constanza” from Italy, which is given to all the personalities who have projected their International Talent.
In addition to having a Guinness Record for having published an uninterrupted journalistic column for 35 years, two Golden Microphone awards from Rosalía Buaún, president of the Mexican announcers, and recognition from Buckingham Palace and Scotland Yard as the Latin journalist who best covered the wedding of the twentieth century (Charles of England and Diana Spencer).
Enrique Castillo-Pesado is a distinguished member of the Geography and Statistics Society and Director of foundations such as the Miguel Alemán A.C Foundation, the Sebastián Foundation, and the Castil-Novo Foundation. And this year, he celebrates 45 years at the head of the Inter-Public Relations Agency-Mexico-Spain.
His distinguished career has earned him more than 50 journalistic awards in various fields, and to date, he has published 18 books and conducted more than 300 interviews on Mexiquense TV.
