A negative response and defeat are two things that Wendy Jordan has never been able to accept. Her diligence and effort make her story one of the most inspiring for female entrepreneurs around the world.
Before dividing her time between Switzerland and Panama, Wendy began her path to success from a small apartment where she answered calls and redirect them to her cell phone when leaving the country to provide immediate attention. In addition, she rented computers in an internet cafe for her collaborators. It was from these conditions that she began to build her legacy. The vision for the future and the confidence in her effort and work would take them, after fourteen years, to be the leading marketplace in Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.
Wendy Jordan is the founder and Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Encuentra24, the most successful classifieds website in Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.
They have more than 60 collaborators internationally and are backed by the millionaire investment fund Frontier Digital Ventures (FDV.AX) of Malaysia, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
She is at the forefront of marketing strategies, e-commerce development, and new product management. In 2005, she founded Marketplace Horizontal in Panama and turned it into a leading Latin American multinational in the region.
Jordan is an example of female entrepreneurship since she started this project with the idea of helping people through a collaborative platform where they could get information on buying and selling real estate. For her, the way to the top has been based on effort and knowledge. She has a “Master’s degree in strategic and creative management of comprehensive advertising” from the University of Barcelona, a degree in marketing with an emphasis on advertising, and is a technician in web design. In addition to mastering English, Spanish and basic German.
Her intensity and passion for life have led her to reach new speeds in sports such as cycling, tennis, snowboarding, and GTA missions. She also enjoys hiking outdoors, volunteering, and gardening her plants and flowers.
As an entrepreneur, she is well aware of the impact that women leaders currently make on future generations. She has been the board director of the International Association of Marketplaces, “International Speaker” in forums such as Forbes “Powerful Women”, Forbes “Geniuses of Disruption” and other technology forums. In addition to being considered one of the most influential Panamanian women.
Both in her native Juan Díaz and the rest of Panama, her effort is considered an example of female entrepreneurship. That is why we are interested in recognizing it and that it serves as an example to young people from all over Latin America.
